Your Role as a Graduate-Software Developer

 

As a Graduate – Software Developer you will gain hands-on experience supporting the development of innovative software solutions that enable Orica’s global operations.

 

You’ll work alongside experienced developers, learning how technology supports business performance while building your coding, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. You’ll develop your technical capability while gaining exposure to real projects and modern development practices.

 

Based in our Welshpool office, this role runs Monday to Friday with a hybrid working model, including two days working from home, giving you the flexibility to learn, collaborate, and shape your future.

What you will be doing

 

  • Develop and support software applications aligned to business needs;
  • Collaborate with senior developers on projects and technical solutions;  
  • Participate in code reviews and improve code quality through feedback;  
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with guidance from the team;  
  • Support testing activities to ensure performance and quality of systems; 
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across projects.  

What you will bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field completed or due for completion in 2026;
  • Foundational programming knowledge in languages such as C#, Python, Java, or C++;
  • Understanding of software development principles and best practices; 
  • Exposure to version control tools (e.g., Git) is advantageous; 
  • Internship, academic, or personal coding project experience is highly regarded.

This role will be based at our Welshpool Office in Perth, WA, where you'll gain valuable hands-on experience while working alongside industry experts in a collaborative and innovative environment.
