New World Nelson City is looking for an experienced leader to join our senior team as Grocery Manager.

 

Located in the heart of Nelson, our well-established supermarket is proud to serve the community with quality products and exceptional customer service. We’re seeking someone who can lead our Grocery department with passion, professionalism, and a drive for excellence.

 

About the Role

 

As Grocery Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day operations of the Grocery department, ensuring high standards in customer service, department presentation, and financial performance. You’ll lead by example, motivate your team, and deliver results that make a real impact.

 

What You’ll Bring

 

  • Proven experience in supermarket or retail leadership (3+ years in management preferred)
  • Strong people leadership skills – confident, empathetic, and performance-driven
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational abilities
  • Solid understanding of budgets, costs, and sales performance
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • A genuine passion for customer service and community engagement

 

This is a full-time role (40–45 hours per week), Tuesday to Saturday, with flexibility required during peak trading periods. Hours will be discussed at interview.
