Accor’s Cooinda Lodge Kakadu is hiring a Grounds Person to maintain gardens, lawns and irrigation and to support daily maintenance tasks including water testing, equipment upkeep and basic landscaping repairs, while liaising with the Maintenance Team to action requests and contractor work. Ideally you have 1-2 years in grounds or maintenance, are proficient with tools such as chainsaws, mowers and brushcutters, can conduct pool water testing, and thrive in a remote working environment. A valid driver’s license and solid WHS knowledge are essential. For your application, emphasize hands-on experience, reliability and time management, willingness to live on-site with subsidised housing and meals, and a genuine interest in Kakadu’s natural and cultural setting.

Under a Accor's Hotel Management Agreement (HMA)  in partnership with the Djigardaba Enterprise Aboriginal Corporation, it offers guests a gateway to explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed park. Job Description

  • Maintain gardens, lawns, irrigation systems, and outdoor facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and visual appeal.

  • Support daily maintenance operations including water testing, equipment upkeep, and basic landscaping repairs.

  • Liaise with the Maintenance Team and assist in record keeping, ensuring timely action on maintenance requests and contractor work.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years’ experience in grounds or maintenance roles, including safe use of landscaping tools (chainsaws, lawnmowers, brushcutters) and pool water testing.

  • Reliable, hands-on team member with strong time management skills and adaptability in a remote setting.

  • Driver’s license required; understanding of WH&S standards and a passion for outdoor work essential.
