NZSki is seeking a Guest Services Assistant to join our town based Snow Centre team in Queenstown, full time, onsite, starting 1 June 2026 with initial online learning. You’ll greet guests, manage bookings, answer enquiries, process sales and payments, and guide customers on products and lessons while supporting Reservations in busy periods. Our Guest Services team is one of the first points of contact for guests visiting Coronet Peak/The Remarkables or our Snow centre. Our aim is to provide seamless support by efficiently answering questions, assisting with bookings, and offering guidance for their trip, ensuring that every interaction makes their experience easier and more enjoyable.
You'll be able to share your passion for the mountains by finding the best products to suit the individual needs of guests, with your extensive knowledge of our products, packages, rentals, snowsports lessons, transport and all that happens on and off mountain. Your challenge as part of the GS team is to focus on the person in front of you, no matter how big the queue behind them or what time of day it is.
In order to succeed within Team GS you need to be fun loving, enjoy helping out your team mates and love sharing your passion with our customers.
The start date is 1 June 2026 with a small amount of online learning from home beforehand.
Our operating hours at the Snow Centre vary based on business levels. During peak periods, we typically open from 7:15 AM to 7:00 PM, with shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Outside of these peak times, we may close earlier in the evening.
About the role:
• Based at our Snow Centre in town, with opportunities to support the on-mountain Guest Services team when required.
• Welcome and engage with every guest as they arrive, ensuring a warm and positive first impression.
• Process sales efficiently and manage all guest enquiries, including booking changes, rescheduling lessons or transport, and providing clear, confident guidance.
• Identify opportunities to elevate the guest experience through thoughtful, needs-based product recommendations.
• Support our Reservations team during busy periods by assisting with guest enquiries via phone and email.
• Operate our Point of Sale and Guest Database systems accurately while navigating multiple tasks.
• Act as a knowledgeable point of contact, with a strong understanding of NZSki products, key departments, events, promotions, and important dates.
About You
• Frontline customer service or contact centre experience, with a proven commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience.
• Confident communicator with strong active listening skills. Able to remain calm, friendly, and solutions-focused in busy or complex situations.
• Previous experience using multiple computer systems in a customer service, tourism, or hospitality environment.
• Comfortable learning ski industry products, pricing, and processes (full training provided).
• A team player with flexibility to help out across departments when needed, including Retail, Food & Beverage, and Lifts.
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently while juggling multiple tasks.
• An understanding that winter operations are weather-dependent, and hours may vary accordingly.
