About the Role

As a Gymnastics Assistant, you'll play a critical role in supporting the delivery of top-notch programs and services that help kids thrive. Your enthusiasm for all aspects of YMCA gymnastics programs and your strong communication skills will ensure a safe and welcoming environment where students thrive!

But most importantly, you'll be creating a fun and engaging atmosphere that prioritizes our young gymnasts growth and development.

Gymnastic Assistant hiring intakes will usually occur in the middle of each school term. Qualified gymnastic coach intakes occur all year.

This is a casual position with an hourly rate up to $31.18 per hour + Super (junior rates apply for applicants under 18 years old)

About You

We're looking for someone who brings boundless energy and motivation to the table, someone who's not afraid to think outside the box and bring their own creative ideas to the class environment. You'll be constantly learning and growing in this role, and you'll need to be ready to keep up with the latest industry innovations and techniques.

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and all facility users.

Essential Qualifications

  • No prior coaching experience is required, but a keen interest in gymnastics and working with children is essential.
  • Availability to work during peak times, including weekends, school holidays, and special events.
  • Willingness to undertake necessary training to become a qualified gymnastics coach
  • Willingness to complete FA/CPR certificates in order to become a qualified gymnastics coach
  • Current Working with Children Check (for all ages)
