About the Role
Overall accountable to the Manager, Hand therapy department, this grade 2 practitioner of hand therapy position is responsible for providing high quality, hand therapy management to the in-patients and out-patients of the plastics, orthopaedics and hand units of St. Vincent’s, and associated non-clinical tasks as directed.
Provide appropriate clinical management for all Plastics and Hand therapy department patients demonstrating evidence based practice.
Provide consultation and expert advice for staff regarding the management of patients with hand pathology.
Liaise with consultants regarding hand therapy specific patient management.
Actively participate in the hand therapy team functioning and work together with clinical staff regarding overall patient care.
Participate in service development and review of the hand therapy service as appropriate.
Classifications for this position will range from classification range VF6 - VF9 or VB1 - VB4 ($45.67 per hour - $52.49) plus a casual loading of 25%.
Your Contribution
Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
Current AHPRA Occupational therapy or Physiotherapy Registration (and Eligibility to Australian Occupational therapy Association or Australian Physiotherapy Association)
Prior hand therapy experience at Grade 2 level
Ability to work autonomously
Post graduate qualifications in Hand therapy / Upper limb Rehabilitation or other related area.
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain
