Job Summary

Pay: $35.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: 12 hour shifts; weekend work as needed

The Harbor Crane / Crawler Crane Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various types of cranes and related container handling equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. This role involves working at heights, interpreting technical diagrams, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring all work meets safety and operational standards. Being an operations support role, the mechanic must be able to work independently or as part of a team, with flexibility for overtime, and on-call duties.

• Liebherr Crane (550 series) 
• Liebherr Crane (320 series) 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains Mobile, and Crawler crane equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems 
• Performs routine maintenance, inspections, lubrication, and cleaning of equipment 
• Operates cranes and aerial equipment at heights to evaluate and verify repairs 
• Reads and interprets technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to prepare and execute work 
• Completes required work reports accurately 
• Maintains and cares for company tools, equipment, and parts inventory 
• Provides training or mentorship to other technicians and supports continuous learning 
• Accesses, reviews, and closes work orders accurately using the company's maintenance management system 
• Adheres to all safety protocols and promotes a clean, orderly work environment 
• Works flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and on-call as needed 
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience with shore, friction, and hydraulic cranes (e.g., Liebherr, Link-Belt, American, Demag, Manitowoc) is required 
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions and complete tasks on time 
• Proficient in English with basic math skills 
• Physically able to bend, stoop, climb, twist, and lift up to 60 pounds 
• Able to communicate clearly with team members, vendors, and customers 
• Computer proficient with strong email communication skills 
• TWIC Card or the ability to obtain one 
• NCCCO Certification (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) preferred but not required
