Objective:

The Head – CSR & Sustainability will be responsible for defining, leading, and implementing the organization’s CSR and sustainability strategy aligned with the company’s core values, regulatory mandates, and stakeholder expectations. This role requires strong leadership to manage and mentor the CSR Team, drive impactful initiatives, and create long-term social, environmental, and business value.

Key Responsibility:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and lead the CSR and Sustainability strategy for the group in alignment with the company’s vision and ESG goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and key departments to integrate sustainability and CSR into core business operations.
  • Identify and prioritize focus areas for social and environmental programs with measurable outcomes.

Program Design & Implementation

  • Design and execute innovative CSR programs across health, education, livelihood, environment, and community development.
  • Oversee sustainability initiatives focusing on energy efficiency, waste management, supply chain sustainability, and climate action.
  • Monitor project impact, ensure effective program execution, and drive continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build partnerships with NGOs, government bodies, and other stakeholders for program execution.
  • Represent the organization at external forums, industry associations, and media to enhance the company’s CSR and sustainability image.
  • Engage with employees through volunteer programs and sustainability campaigns.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including the Companies Act (CSR provisions), ESG disclosures, and sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, BRSR).
  • Drive impact assessments, audits, and risk management practices related to CSR and sustainability.

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare and present reports to the Board CSR Committee, investors, and senior management.
  • Publish the Annual CSR Report and Sustainability Report in line with statutory and voluntary guidelines.

Desired Experience:

The ideal Head – CSR & Sustainability in a retail company should have 10+ years of progressive experience in CSR/ Sustainabilty. Proven success in driving high level cross functional collaboration, enhancing customer engagement, and achieving & exceeding sales KPI targets for stores.
