As our first IT & Security Lead, you’ll lead the design, implementation, security, and ongoing management of the company’s IT and information security environment from the ground up. This includes overseeing all end-user devices (desktops, laptops, peripherals), infrastructure, security, and the management of external IT service providers.

The role also involves providing strategic and hands-on support to ongoing technology initiatives, including the implementation of a new ERP system.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and leadership to ensure
that our technology backbone is secure, reliable, and scalable

What you’ll be doing

IT operations & end-user management

  • Design and implement the company’s target IT architecture (cloud, on-prem, hybrid).

  • Define IT governance, standards, and documentation frameworks.

  • Ensure clear segmentation between corporate IT, R&D environments, and production systems.

  • Develop IT scalable processes and documentation (onboarding, asset management, lifecycle management).

  • Implement Mobile Device Management and endpoint security solutions to manage.
    and maintain all company desktops, laptops, and related hardware/software.

  • Oversee identity and access management (IAM, SSO, MFA).

Vendor & MSP management

  • Select, onboard, and manage the outsourced IT services provider.

  • Define SLAs, track performance, and ensure high-quality service delivery.

  • Manage software licensing, hardware procurement, and vendor relationships.

  • Ensure security standards are upheld across the supplier ecosystem.

Infrastructure & systems

  • Oversee internal IT infrastructure (networking, servers, backup systems, VPN, etc.).

  • Implement and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plan.

  • Support the integration of SaaS and cloud-based solutions across departments.

  • Partner with the ERP implementation team to align infrastructure and access requirements.

  • Ensure high availability and resilience of critical systems.

Security & Compliance

  • Define and enforce IT security policies, access controls, and data protection
    measures.

  • Implement endpoint protection (Protect sensitive IP and manufacturing data), monitoring, and incident response processes based on ITIL processes.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, best practices).

  • Ensure GDPR compliance and prepare the organisation for potential future certifications.

  • Conduct risk assessments and vendor security reviews.

Strategic IT Development

  • Evaluate, recommend and develop a 3–5 year IT roadmap aligned with business
    growth.

  • Plan and budget for IT needs, balancing immediate priorities with long-term scalability.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on all technology-related topics.

  • Prepare the organisation for scaling (headcount, international expansion, manufacturing growth).

Your profile

  • 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems architecture, and IT security.

  • Proven experience building or significantly restructuring an IT environment.

  • Strong hands-on experience managing desktops (Windows, macOS), SaaS tools, and cloud environments.

  • Proven experience managing IT vendors or outsourced providers.

  • Good understanding of IT security best practices and compliance frameworks.

  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and operate both strategically and operationally as the
    company’s first IT professional.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting or integrating ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics).

  • Exposure to MDM and identity platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, SSO).

  • Background in manufacturing/technology/hardware environments.

  • Project management exposure or certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP).
