Key Responsibilities

As Head of Legal Operations, you will serve as a strategic advisor, delivering high-level legal guidance across a diverse global portfolio. Your expertise will span hotel and residences management agreements, M&A, real estate, finance, intellectual property and international dispute resolution. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in safeguarding Kempinski’s global interests while driving the brand's strategic expansion across both emerging and established markets.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of all contracts including complex Hotel & Residences Management Agreements, technical services agreements, and franchise contracts.
  • Corporate Governance: Advise on corporate secretarial matters, joint ventures, and international entity management.
  • Litigation Management: Manage external counsel globally for litigation, arbitration, and labor disputes, ensuring cost-effectiveness and favourable outcomes.
  • Asset Management: Support the business on real estate transactions, leasing, and construction legalities related to new hotel developments.
  • Brand Protection: Oversee the global trademark portfolio and advise on marketing, IP licensing, and sponsorship agreements.
  • People Management: Leading a dedicated team of four legal specialists.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Education: Master of Laws (LL.M.) or equivalent from a top-tier university; qualified to practice in a major jurisdiction. Bar certification is a must.
  • Experience: 8–12 years of post-qualification experience (PQE). Previous experience in a top-tier law firm or asset management firm is preferred. Hospitality experience is highly preferred. 
  • Languages: Fluent English mandatory; proficiency in a second language is a plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: Deep expertise in international commercial law and cross-border transactions.
