1. Qualifications & Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Education or a relevant academic subject from a recognized university.
Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field (highly preferred).
Valid and current Professional Teaching License/Certification from a recognized US state or equivalent North American authority.
Leadership/Administrative credential is preferred.
2. Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years of full-time teaching experience within an American curriculum school environment (Grades 6-12).
Minimum of 4 years of proven leadership experience in an American curriculum school setting (e.g., Head of Department, Assistant Principal, Curriculum Coordinator).
Demonstrable experience in American curriculum development, implementation, and assessment, specifically aligned with US Common Core State Standards.
Strong track record in staff supervision, performance management, and professional development within a secondary school context.

Familiarity with US college preparatory guidance and Advanced Placement (AP) programs.
5. UAE-Specific Requirements (ADEK Compliance):
Comprehensive understanding of and full compliance with all Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) regulations, policies, and educational standards for private schools.
Familiarity with the ADEK inspection framework and requirements, particularly as they apply to American curriculum schools.
Willingness to undergo and successfully pass all necessary UAE government background checks, attestation of educational qualifications, and medical fitness examinations.
Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity regarding local customs and traditions in the United Arab Emirates.
Ability to obtain and maintain ADEK approval as a Head of Section/Educational Leader.
