NZSki is hiring a Head Ski Technician to service, tune and repair snowsports gear across Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Mt Hutt. Role blends craft with guest service in a safe workshop and during peak rentals, with support for the rental floor. NZSki boasts one of the most modern and innovative rental fleets in the world comprising of the leading Head BYS system and the Burton LTR snowboards.

Our Ski and Snowboard Technicians are responsible for the service, repair & maintenance of all snowsports equipment.

 About the Role

• Safely tune and repair guest, staff and rental snowsports equipment with professional service and guest relations

• Operate in a workshop which is maintained in a clean and safe work environment

• Be a part of a small team of ski techs and a wider team of floor rental staff.

• Report any new arising hazards or work incident and injuries

• Support the rental floor staff at peak times if required.

• Deliver exemplary customer service

• General machine maintenance skills required

• Problem solving skills required

• Deliver exceptional customer service

About You

• A certificate at NZQA Level 4, or a higher qualification in Snowsports Equipment (or equivalent international qualification)

• Minimum one season as a rentals assistant or rentals technician is essential

• Excellent people skills

• Health & safety conscious

• Experience with current ski and snowboard servicing machinery and their techniques of use

• Previous experience is preferred

• An understanding that employment is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the hours of work cannot be guaranteed

• NZSki will be closed for the holiday season, applications will be reviewed upon our return in the new year, no earlier than January 10th? (Jacey)

• This role is based at Coronet or The Remarkables

• Shifts will vary from early starts (7am) to working evenings during night ski (10pm).

• Again, same comment as on head tech, may just need different wording for applications

• Start date of this position is end of May – a later start is not possible.

• You need a valid work visa for the entire duration of the season (end of May – end of September (Coronet Peak) /mid October (The Remarkables). – No 3 month visa restrictions
