This is a Casual (on-call) position to pick up shifts when we are short staffed.

We are looking for someone who can pick up any of these shifts for any day:

  • 7:00am-3:00pm
  • 7:00am-12:00pm
  • 3:00pm-11:00pm
  • 4:00pm-10:30pm

What you’ll be doing:

As a Health Care Aide, you’ll form a deep understanding of your residents and their living experience.  You will build relationships with the residents and their family members, offering a variety of support options and program choices that enrich their daily health and well being. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.  

What makes you a great fit?

  • Maintains resident records and required documentation in accordance with policies and procedures and legislative requirements
  • Must be able to perform medication assistance and care tasks, including: BP monitoring, Catheter care, Assistance with ROM, mobility/movement exercises, medication assistance/administration including eye drops, eye ointments, inhalers, nebulizers, PRN medication, insulin injections, transdermal medication patch, inserting rectal suppository, application of topical ointments as delegated or when part of routine assistance of daily living
  • Monitors resident well-being in accordance with the policy of the residence
  • Performs other related duties as required to support common area cleaning, laundry and resident care assignments
  • Completes all aspects of resident care as outlined in the personal service plan
  • Answers all resident call bells and door alarms promptly and provides courteous service
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to know:

  • Successful completion of Health Care Assistant certificate program and registration with the BC Care Aide Registry.
  • Medication Certification
  • Current First Aid/CPR certificate
  • Excellent command of the verbal and written English language skills
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Record Check
  • You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
