Health Care Assistant SP in the Pediatric Ward at American Hospital Dubai is a full-time onsite role focused on safe patient centered care while supporting daily clinic operations. You will prioritize tasks for efficient area functioning, keep all medical equipment and rooms clean, ensure a safe environment through strict safety policies, manage stock to prevent expiries and ensure accurate charging of consumables, and maintain organized stores. Daily duties include recording fridge and linen temperatures, glucometer QC, and cleaning schedules, while upholding JCIA standards and completing environmental assessments and mandatory education. Supports the provision of safe, patient and family-focused quality care. Assists in the daily functioning of the clinic/department in support of patient care while maintaining confidentiality. Supports the successful achievements of the Clinic Operations strategic goals.
- Prioritizes tasks ensuring effective functioning of the area.
- Keeps all medical equipment and examination rooms clean and ready for use.
- Ensures a safe working environment through strict compliance with Hospital Policy and Procedures regarding safety, infection and security.
- Ensures clinic stock as per the needs and no expired items.
- Ensures an accurate charging of consumables and store organization.
- Measures and records daily:
- Fridge (Medication and nutrition) temperature
- Linen warmer temperature
- Glucometer daily quality check
- Cleaning schedules
- Maintains a safe, hygienic working environment per Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards.
- Ensures the completion of environmental assessment of the clinic.
- Ensures the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) and Mandatory Education are completed within the time frame.
- Minimum of nine (9) years of basic education with eighteen (18) months – two (2) years of Nurse Training, or a minimum of twelve (12) years of basic education with one (1) year of Nurse Training - six (6) months Health Care Assistant certification course
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience as a nursing assistant.
- Fluent in English, spoken and written.
- Arabic speaker is desirable.
- Demonstrates skills in assessment of patient, and family’s physical and psychological needs.
- Demonstrates skill in coordination and planning of care and prioritizes care based on individual needs.
- Heart saver / Basic Life Support.
