About Highland Valley Copper
Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operations is Canada’s largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation.
Located approximately 17 kilometers west of Logan Lake and about 50 kilometers southwest of Kamloops in British Columbia, the surrounding areas of HVC have an abundant offering of outdoor experiences.
For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have a background in Occupational Health and Safety, Mining Engineering, or a related field. We are seeking a highly motivated and diligent Health, Safety, Security, and Emergency Response Co-op to join our HVC MLE team for an 8-month work term.
If you are not currently located in the area of this co-op position, you must be willing to either commute or relocate to the surrounding area for the entire duration of the co-op term. You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed). Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.
Highland Valley Copper is a 50-minute drive from Kamloops, which has all of the comforts of city living and is also close to Merritt, Ashcroft, and Logan Lake, which all exude a small-town community atmosphere.
This is a drive-in/drive-out role. The Project coordinates a bus service from pickup points in local communities like Kamloops and Merritt. Alternatively, employees commute to site by car, and carpooling is common among team members.
Don’t miss out on this opening to be part of one of Canada’s leading mining companies and join our team!
All students will be required to complete pre-employment drug and medical screening prior to commencing work.
