What you’ll be doing:
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support residents to live with comfort, dignity, and independence, delivering care that is respectful, safe, and genuinely person-centred. You’ll focus on building trusting relationships and creating a calm, supportive environment where residents feel listened to, valued, and cared for. You will:
Provide personal care in a way that maintains dignity, privacy, and comfort
Support residents with daily activities such as hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and hydration
Observe and respond to residents’ physical and emotional needs, escalating concerns appropriately
Build warm, respectful relationships with residents and their families/whānau
Create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that promotes wellbeing and independence
Follow individual care plans and work closely with Registered Nurses to ensure consistent, high-quality care
Communicate clearly and compassionately with residents, families, and your wider team
Take responsibility for health, safety, and infection control practices to keep everyone safe
What you’ll bring:
At least 1 year of experience in caregiving, aged care, or a similar role
A compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to caring for older adults
Clear communication skills and a strong team-focused mindset
A commitment to safety, dignity, and resident-centred care
Flexibility to work a rotating roster, that may include weekends and night shifts
