Ideal candidates will have NZQA Automotive Heavy Engineering Level 4 (or overseas equivalent), proven heavy vehicle experience, solid hydraulic knowledge, and the ability to work independently or in a small team with a positive attitude. About the Role
 
We’re seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair a wide range of heavy off‑road machinery, including loaders, material handlers, terminal tractors and forklifts. As a 24/7 operation, we rely on our mechanical team to keep our stevedoring and logistics equipment running around the clock.
 
Location: Tauranga Port
 
Status: Up to $46.00 p/h Full-time, 4 on, 4 off working PM 1600-0400 hours
 
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Replacing / repairing machinery components
  • Servicing machinery
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in a variety of heavy loaders, excavators, forklifts & trucks
  • Repairs to attachments, grapples & log heads
Who we're after:
  • NZQA Automotive Heavy Engineering Level 4 qualification (or overseas equivalent) required
  • Proven experience working on heavy vehicles and machinery
  • Solid understanding of hydraulic systems
  • Able to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Bring a positive, can-do attitude to the role
