POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate, HEOR & Market Access will be responsible for supporting health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) activities internally and externally to the organization. They will also work with the Marketing Department and Sales teams to support all stages of health economics, outcomes research, reimbursement, and market access initiatives while gaining broad experience in generating HEOR evidence and tools. The Associate Health Economist/Research Scientist will provide support to the HEOR team as we address critical public health issues relating to medical devices.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Conduct budget impact analyses to support Sales including collaborating with stakeholders to gather information, applying basic economic evaluations standards and producing reports to communicate results
- Support efforts to build economic models, such as cost-effectiveness and cost-comparison models, as well as accompanying tools and methods to communicate results to audiences of varying levels of expertise
- Engage with physicians to help with study design, protocol development, and site selection for outcomes research studies
- Support the HEOR team with daily tasks such as: impact evaluations, HEOR projects, trainings, research, policy analysis and special HEOR projects
- Conduct literature reviews and meta-analyses
- Support HEOR team with day-today activities
- Support ongoing studies with data science tasks to include data entry, data validation/verification, data manipulation, and data analysis
- Draft white papers, abstracts, and manuscript under health economists’ guidance
- Support Market Access manager in partnership initiatives as well as research, applications, and strategies for reimbursement initiatives
- Assumes ownership of product(s) evidence and market access strategy under guidance of HEOR and market access team
- Travel up to 30%
Qualifications / Education:
- 1-2 years’ experience with master’s degree in health economics, epidemiology, health policy, or related branch of study. A focus on public health, economic evaluations, epidemiology, medical devices/technology, or market access is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree plus relevant work experience (2-4 years) can substitute for advanced degree
- Understanding of economic evaluation of technologies
- Understanding of research methods and statistics
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with strong acumen in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience with at least one data analysis tools highly preferred (Stata, r, SAS, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; communicates with candor and openness
- Experience with systematic or targeted literature reviews
- Self-starter that can work independently with a strong results orientation
- Works well with dynamic, cross functional teams; highly collaborative
- Ability to handle pressure, complex situations, and problem-solving capacity
- Ability to think analytically and strategically
- Possesses a consultative approach to decision-making
