Reconomy is looking for a Class 1 HGV driver to join a Corby operation, with recruitment support provided by Advanced Supply Chain Group. This is a permanent, full-time role that fits a hybrid working approach, and it’s a good match for drivers who value steady weekday patterns, solid safety standards, and a clear route forward in logistics. The company emphasises teamwork, service to customers, and a commitment to the community and the environment.

The job is based in Corby, at Eismann Way, and offers an early start cadence that appeals to drivers who prefer mornings on the road. If you enjoy practical driving, keeping to schedules, and doing the job properly, you’ll probably feel at home in this team.

Ideal for someone who wants regular hours, reliable weekly pay, and a role that blends driving with ongoing development, this position requires a valid Class 1 licence and a safety‑moc mindset. It’s a chance to contribute to a broader logistics network while keeping your professional standards high.

On the road with Corby deliveries

In this role you’ll operate as a Class 1 driver (C+E), carrying out duties that revolve around delivering and handling goods with care while staying compliant with drivers’ hours regulations and the Working Time Directive. The work week is Monday to Friday, with day shifts available and starts typically between 05:00 and 07:00 depending on the route. There’s also the possibility of tramping on some trips, with nights paid as extra, and overtime is paid when applicable. You’ll be paid weekly, every Friday, and you’ll be based in Corby as part of a team that values safety and reliability.

Day‑to‑day, you’ll follow planned routes, keep precise records for compliance with tachograph and CPC requirements, and maintain a professional, safety‑first approach in every interaction on the road. It’s a role that rewards independence and vigilance, with a focus on delivering goods smoothly and on time while upholding high safety standards.

What you’ll need to move with confidence

  • A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, with CPC and Digital Tachograph card in place
  • For insurance purposes, no more than 6 penalty points, with no unspent endorsements (excluding speeding)
  • A solid understanding of drivers’ hours regulations and the Working Time Directive
  • A professional, safety‑first mindset and pride in doing the job properly
  • Reliable, flexible, and self‑motivated, with the ability to work independently
  • Previous tramping experience is an advantage, but confident drivers new to tramping are also welcome

Pay, schedule and benefits

The role pays £16.62 per hour, which works out to about £42,302 a year, with weekly pay every Friday. Shifts start in the early part of the day, between 05:00 and 07:00, and the work is based in Corby. Tramping is available and is paid extra per night when it occurs.

Beyond pay, the company offers onboarding and ongoing training to support your development, and a hybrid working model exists for office staff as part of the broader organisation. You’ll also benefit from 20 days of annual leave plus the option to purchase extra days, plus a birthday off as a complimentary work‑free day. The enhanced maternity package provides six months of full pay, with two weeks full paternity pay for new dads and partners, and there is a salary sacrifice pension scheme to help you plan for the future. The team puts collaboration, openness and support at the heart of daily life.

Tips for applicants

Put your Class 1 (C+E) licence, CPC and Tachograph details up front on your resume, and clearly confirm you meet the points requirement of up to six points with no unspent endorsements. This shows you satisfy the must‑have qualifications at a glance.

Demonstrate how you have complied with drivers’ hours rules and the Working Time Directive in your recent roles. If you’ve managed complex schedules or deliveries that required precise timekeeping, call that out with concrete examples and outcomes.

Be ready to talk about early starts and the potential for nights away. If you have any tramping experience, highlight how you handled route planning, fatigue management, and safety on nights out to reassure the interviewer you can stay sharp on longer trips.

Ask a practical question about the role, such as how often routes involve tramping and how night out allowances are calculated, or how route planning works across the Corby area. A targeted question shows you’re thinking about how to fit the schedule and maximise efficiency from day one.
