Summary

LINK 427 General Partnership is a joint venture responsible for designing, building, financing and operating/maintaining the 427 Expansion project. Upon completion of construction, LINK 427 will provide Operations, Maintenance and Rehabilitation services for the next 25 years to the newly constructed 427 Expansion Project from Finch Ave. to Major Mackenzie Dr.

 

This 12-month contract postion involves summer and winter patrolling duties, Emergency Response & performing routine maintenance operations in accordance with the LINK 427 Project Agreement and Ministry of Transportation requirements.

 

Location: LINK 427 Patrol Yard, 515 Carlingview Drive, Etobicoke ON 

Responsibilities

  • Promote, lead, and execute a Safety-First culture for all employees, sub-contractors, and consultants in compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies and ensure contractual HSE obligation for the staff and public are met
  • Respond to emergency situations such as spills, accidents, inclement weather and implement an emergency plan
  • Provide traffic control at accident scenes, including set up and take down of traffic control signs, as required
  • Communicate with authorities on site – police, fire etc. and liaise with MTO central dispatch to ensure adequate resources are available to maintain public safety on the highways during inclement weather and road conditions
  • Call out and manage winter operations during winter events
  • Assist in the identification of deficiencies, through inspection patrols and create deficiency lists for the Foreperson
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including diary, daily electronic timesheets, and various paperwork, etc.
  • Right-of-way debris and litter picking
  • Respond to public complaints
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including Crash Truck
  • Perform repairs, maintenance operations and asset inspections as required
  • Conduct daily circle checks on vehicles; clean and maintain vehicles
  • Other duties as assigned 

Compensation Data

Hourly: $29-$30/hr

Qualifications:

  • DZ License, required
  • Experience in snow and ice control along with knowledge of OTM book 7, is a strong asset
  • Previous winter operations and storm management experience, considered an asset
  • Knowledge of highway maintenance, considered an asset
  • Customer service oriented to effectively communicate with various stake holders (MTO, General Public) and attend to their concerns with the utmost sense of urgency
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) to accurately document daily activities, incident reports and deficiency logs
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills to navigate weather, equipment data, and MTO work sites
  • Effective team player, with the ability to work individually and in a group setting
  • Willingness to work assigned day, night and weekend shifts as required
