Blue Lagoon is looking for a passionate individual with a strong service-oriented mindset and a burning interest in the position of host at The Retreat, which is a prestigious and unique five-star hotel by the Blue Lagoon.

This individual is an integral part of the guest journey, facilitating an unforgettable stay. This includes greeting, guiding, and advising at all touchpoints of the hotel experience.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage the welcome process for all guests, including showing guests to their suites and confirming their itinerary.
  • Ensure arrangements are confirmed in the booking system.
  • Prepare for guest arrival by ensuring suites are ready and that the itinerary is confirmed.
  • Look after guests during their stay.
  • Manage the departure process by confirming travel arrangements and ensuring a smooth check-out process.
  • Other tasks related to the needs and desires of the guest.

Requirements

  • Service-orientated and positive attitude.
  • Passionate about Icelandic tourism and hospitality.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Immaculate grooming.
  • Exceptional communication and cooperation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Fluent in both Icelandic and English.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Icelandic nature and surroundings.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent qualification).
  • Experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Outgoing, with excellent people skills.
  • Good computer skills.

  • Flexible working hours.

The position is based on a shift schedule.
