Summerset Waikanae is seeking two Housekeeper/Laundry Assistants to join a warm team, with one Full Time (40 hours, five days) and one Part Time (16 hours, two days) on site. This role goes beyond cleaning you will maintain high standards in resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas and laundry, launder and handle residents’ clothing with care, support infection control and health and safety procedures, and build connections with residents. Ideal applicants have housekeeping experience, ideally in healthcare or hospitality, take pride in small details, are physically fit, and have a genuine interest in aged care; full training is provided if needed. A Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant at Summerset is more than just a cleaner.

We’re looking for a hardworking, caring Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our warm and welcoming Waikanae village team. This role is all about making sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home.

As a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant, you'll be a key part of creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
• Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

We have 2 Housekeeping/Laundry Assistant roles available in our growing team. Please specify on your application which one suits you best. 

Role 1: Full Time, 40hrs across 5 days Mon - Sun.

Role 2: Part-Time, 16hrs across 2 days Mon - Sun. 

Qualifications

You’ll be a great fit if you:

• You have experience in housekeeping ideally in healthcare or hospitality
• Take pride in your work and care about the small details
• Are physically fit and comfortable working on your feet
• Have a genuine interest in aged care (no experience necessary — full training provided)
