Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a full-time onsite Housekeeping Aide in Vancouver to support a patient and family centered care model. You’ll perform damp dusting, mopping, floor maintenance, and cleaning and disinfecting rooms, beds, furniture and equipment, along with waste management and bed making, all in line with policy. Qualifications include Grade 10 or equivalent, physical ability, strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and the ability to operate related equipment; hours may change with operational needs and a criminal records check may be required. The Housekeeping Aide performs a variety of cleaning duties such as but not limited to damp dusting; dry and wet mopping of floors; floor maintenance and refinishing using appropriate equipment; cleaning & disinfecting ceiling, wall, vent, washroom, bed, furniture and equipment; regular and biomedical waste collection and removal; spill clean-up; bed-making; and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility according to organizational policies, procedures and routines.QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesPhysical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to deal with others effectively.Ability to organize work.Ability to operate related equipment.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
