HR Generalist

Salary: $65,000 to $80,000
Overview
The HR Generalist will play a critical role in supporting the People function at Naked Farmer, ensuring day-to-day HR operations run smoothly while helping scale people processes across a growing, multi-market organization. This role will serve as a trusted partner to field leaders and corporate teams, handling core HR responsibilities while enabling the Director of People to focus on strategy, culture, and organizational growth.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-centered, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-unit environment with both empathy and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Lifecycle & People Operations
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for corporate and field team members.
- Coordinate new hire paperwork, background checks, I-9 verification, and system setup.
- Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and ensure data integrity.
- Support promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations.
Employee Relations & Manager Support
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies and benefits.
- Support employee relations matters, including documentation, coaching conversations, and investigations, escalating complex issues to the Director of People.
Policy, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple markets.
- Assist in maintaining employee handbook, policies, and SOPs.
- Support audits related to wage and hour compliance, I-9, and personnel files.
Benefits & Payroll Support
- Assist with benefits administration, enrollments, and employee inquiries.
- Partner with payroll providers to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate processing.
- Support open enrollment and benefits communications.
Culture, Engagement & Training
- Support people programs related to engagement, recognition, and culture initiatives.
- Assist in coordinating training programs and leadership development initiatives.
- Help execute internal communications related to people initiatives.
Process Improvement & Scaling
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, tools, and systems.
- Help document and standardize people processes to support company growth and new market expansion.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of HR experience, ideally in multi-unit, hospitality, retail, or high-growth environments.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems and payroll/benefits vendors.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to balance empathy with accountability.
