At WSP in Abu Dhabi, the HSE Engineer will monitor and enforce health, safety and environmental requirements across the project, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations, project procedures and international best practices. You will conduct routine site safety inspections and audits, monitor contractor HSE plan compliance, investigate incidents and near misses, review risk assessments and permit systems, drive corrective and preventive actions, deliver toolbox talks and safety awareness initiatives, oversee environmental compliance, and prepare HSE reports with performance statistics. To apply, emphasize 8–10 years of construction HSE experience on large infrastructure or mixed-use projects, NEBOSH IGC, strong UAE regulatory knowledge, and proven incident investigation, contractor management and reporting capabilities; attach relevant certifications and quantify safety improvements.


The HSE Engineer will monitor and enforce health, safety, and environmental requirements across the project, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations, project procedures, and international best practices.

  • Conduct routine site safety inspections and audits.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with approved HSE plans.

  • Review risk assessments, method statements, and permit systems.
  • Ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Deliver safety awareness initiatives and toolbox talks.
  • Monitor environmental compliance and sustainability requirements.
  • Prepare HSE reports and performance statistics.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in construction HSE.
  • Experience on large infrastructure or mixed-use development projects.
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate (or equivalent) required.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and practices.
  • UAE/GCC supervision experience preferred.
