COLAS in Scarborough is offering an on-site Human Resources Intern role to support HR processes, records management, onboarding, and project work. The role focuses on organizing documents across PeopleDoc, Teams and SharePoint, maintaining safety and training records for the Neeva project, assisting new hires with onboarding, and helping connect HR systems. As a member of the Human Resources team, the Human Resources Intern will support the delivery of a broad range of HR activities while demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail. The HR Intern will support HR systems, processes, and key projects, acting as a frontline contributor in maintaining accurate records, improving document management, and enhancing overall HR operations.
• Transfer and organize HR documents across systems like PeopleDoc, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Support the Neeva project by updating safety and training records.
• Upload and manage employee documents in PeopleDoc and keep records organized and up to date.
• Clean up and organize the HR SharePoint site.
• Support new hires with onboarding tasks like background checks, IT setup, and training.
• Help improve how HR systems are used and connected.
• Provide support to the HR Team and other ad-hoc projects.
• Planning or currently enrolled in a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution with a focus on Human Resources or Business Administration.
• Interns with previous internship or related work experience in HR considered an asset (Minimum 1 year).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Bilingualism, French and English, an asset).
• Experience with HRIS systems is considered a strong asset.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise tact with sensitive material and information.
• Capable of working both independently and in team environments, able to foster positive working relationships across all levels of the organization and working styles.
• Highly organized, able to juggle competing priorities and adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
• Self-starter with a “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn.
