About the role: 

We have an exciting opportunity for an ICT Systems Engineer. This role is responsible for managing and supporting physical and virtual server environments, application delivery systems, enterprise platforms, and business applications. The role ensures consistent performance and high availability through effective capacity planning, monitoring, and preventative maintenance.

As a key member of the ICT Systems team, this ITIL-aligned position balances business-as-usual support with project work, ensuring services and outcomes are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Administer and support Microsoft environments including Active Directory, Group Policy, and core infrastructure services.
  • Perform routine patching, maintenance and upgrades of Windows Servers, VMware hosts, and Citrix platforms
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge across the Microsoft technology stack and virtualisation platforms (VMware, Omnissa, Citrix).
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues across systems, data centre hardware infrastructure (server, SAN storage), networks and virtual environments
  • Manage nightly backup operations and ensure data integrity across critical systems
  • Collaborate effectively within the team and across departments to support project and operational needs
  • Promote cybersecurity best practices, ensure systems remain secure/compliant by proactively identifying, reporting and resolving security risks
  • Technical knowledge of Cisco UCS, Dell EMC and Pure Storage is advantageous
  • Champion ITIL practices across Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request management
  • Take ownership of tasks, present professionally, and deliver outcomes aligned with business objectives

To be successful in this role you will need: 

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT, or related field, with relevant industry certifications (e.g. MCSA/MCSE, Citrix CCA/CCP, VCP)
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments (2008–2016), Active Directory, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and enterprise certificates
  • Strong background in Exchange Online (including hybrid), Azure, Office 365, Citrix XenApp, VDI, and cloud solutions (Azure, AWS)
  • Skilled in SCCM, SSL certificate management, and application support
  • Experienced in delivering IT systems projects as a technical SME within an ITIL framework
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate technical information clearly
  • Customer-focused, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
