Identity Product Manager
SonarSourceSonarSource, the Geneva-born company behind SonarQube, helps teams ship agentic code with confidence by providing verification and governance across large codebases. The platform processes over 750 billion lines of code every day and is trusted by more than 7 million developers and 75% of the Fortune 100, including names such as Nvidia, ServiceNow, Booking.com, Goldman Sachs, AstraZeneca, and Ford Motor Company. Founded in Geneva and now headquartered in Austin, Sonar maintains a truly global footprint with teams and hubs from Silicon Valley to Tokyo, helping enterprises move quickly while maintaining control, consistency and evidence to ship with confidence.
Sonar is seeking a customer-focused Identity Product Manager to own authentication, authorization and access management so that everyone, from individual developers to the largest regulated enterprises, can access Sonar products securely and without friction. You’ll join the Identity squad within the Storefront domain, the backbone that enables smooth customer access and underpins essential processes like billing and entitlement.
This role sits at the crossroads of customer experience, security and compliance. As a Product Manager, you’ll shape how organizations sign in (SSO via SAML/OIDC) and how permissions and roles are managed at scale, as well as how user and organization identities are provisioned and kept secure throughout their lifecycle. You’ll research, clarify and prioritise the needs of external IT admins, security teams and enterprise buyers, and translate those needs across Sonar’s product range.
You will be part of a Product Management team that loves collaboration and works closely with Identity engineering to ensure proposed solutions deliver the intended outcomes. The aim is an identity experience that is secure by default and straightforward for administrators to operate at scale.
Securing access at scale
Day-to-day, the role involves shaping the Identity vision and building a roadmap focused on enterprise-grade authentication, authorization, and access management. You’ll talk directly with users and customers to understand their problems, incorporate feedback and identify opportunities to improve the product. You’ll develop a deep understanding of enterprise identity needs, SSO/SAML/OIDC, IdP integrations such as Okta and Entra ID, SCIM provisioning, and fine-grained permissions, and consider how to onboard and administer users across large organisations as they grow.
You’ll lead the modernization of enterprise identity and access management by broadening IdP support and hardening permissions and role management for complex organisations. You’ll partner with other product managers to design cross-product features and align with engineering and UX on the problems to solve, supporting the end-to-end development of solutions. You’ll balance innovation with consolidation and stability in collaboration with the engineering teams, and you may even share your insights at conferences. You’ll also help the Product Management team mature its tools, processes and practices.
Must-have ingredients for the Identity PM
Here’s what Sonar is looking for in a candidate. The items below are reworded from the role’s responsibilities and qualifications.
A genuine passion for identity and access management and for building authentication systems that people actually enjoy using while staying secure.
Strong knowledge of identity protocols and patterns (SAML, OIDC/OAuth2, SSO, SCIM provisioning, JWT) and enterprise IdPs such as Okta and Entra ID/Azure AD or similar providers.
A technical grasp of permissions and access control models (RBAC/ABAC) and multi-tenant SaaS access control.
An understanding of the compliance and security expectations that enterprise buyers have (for example SOC 2) as they relate to identity and access.
Experience with AI-assisted coding or AI-enabled development trends.
Background in software product management, ideally with identity work in an agile context.
High autonomy and pragmatism, with a strong focus on solving external customer problems.
Open-mindedness and a positive, can-do attitude.
Comfort with change, complexity and uncertainty in a fast-moving environment.
Self-confidence to challenge the status quo while remaining receptive to feedback.
Leadership to drive a topic from start to finish and bring others along the way.

Advice for applicants for this identity PM role
Lead with your identity and access management experience in your resume. Open with a summary that highlights SSO/SAML/OIDC experience, IdP integrations, RBAC/ABAC, provisioning work, and any multi-tenant SaaS access control you’ve shipped or influenced.
Demonstrate must-have skills with concrete examples. Describe a project where you expanded IdP support (for example Okta or Entra ID) or improved provisioning processes across a customer base, including the impact on onboarding time or admin effort.
Prepare to talk through cross-functional collaboration. Be ready to explain how you’ve aligned product, engineering and UX teams to deliver identity features end to end, balancing security with usability and scale.
End with a thoughtful question that shows you’re thinking about real outcomes. Ask about what success looks like for the Identity squad in the first year and how the team measures onboarding friction and secure access for large customers.
