Octopus Legacy is seeking an Independent Financial Adviser in London to deliver holistic, planning led advice within a rapidly growing startup that combines estate planning with bereavement support. From day one you’ll build your own client book using warm leads from charity partnerships and the Octopus Group network, not cold calling. You’ll enjoy autonomy while collaborating with our wills, legal and partnerships teams to ensure a seamless client journey, and you must stay FCA compliant and data secure. Apply with a Level 4 Diploma in Financial Advice, at least two years’ regulated experience, and clear evidence of a client centric approach, pipeline management and adaptability. Hybrid role in London with strong benefits and a culture that values integrity and bold ideas.
The Company
Octopus Legacy is one of the UK's fastest growing startups, helping over 1 million people plan for and navigate through death - but we're just getting started. After our founder Sam lost his mum suddenly, we built what the market had never seen: a service that combines estate planning and bereavement support with something genuinely human. Voice notes. Music. Recipes. A legacy that actually means something.
We're not competing in this space. We're redefining it. Backed by Octopus Group, we're the best positioned business in the market to scale across UK financial services, and we're moving fast. This role is how we get there.
The Role
As an Independent Financial Adviser at Octopus Legacy you’ll be at the heart of one of our most exciting growth areas: delivering holistic, financial planning led advice to clients
You’ll have the opportunity to build your own book of clients from day one, with warm leads generated through our unique partnerships with over 100 UK charities, our will writing platform, and our wider Octopus Group network. This isn’t a cold calling role, it’s a genuine opportunity to build a meaningful, long term advisory practice within a high growth business.
You’ll sit within a broader financial services function but will have significant autonomy to shape your client relationships and approach. If you’re a driven, client centric adviser who wants to build something meaningful at scale, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Client Acquisition & Book Building
- Create new business opportunities to build your own book of new clients
- Convert warm leads generated through our will writing platform, charity partnerships, and Octopus Group network into long term client relationships
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects, tracking activity and progress through our CRM

- Stay current with regulatory requirements, product developments, and financial planning best practice
Client Relationships & Service
- Deliver an exceptional client service experience at every touchpoint, building multi generational relationships with both mass affluent and high net worth clients
- Conduct regular client reviews to ensure advice remains appropriate and relevant as circumstances evolve
- Work sensitively and empathetically with clients around life events including bereavement, serious illness and estate planning
- Ensure all client interactions and records meet FCA compliance and data protection requirements
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with our will writing, legal, and partnerships teams to ensure a seamless client experience across the Octopus Legacy product suite
- Contribute feedback on client needs and market insights to help shape product and proposition development
- Represent Octopus Legacy’s values and brand in all client and external facing interactions
