Digital Realty seeks an Information Systems Security Officer (f/m/d) to strengthen cybersecurity across EMEA, leading risk assessment, control assurance and security integration. You will collaborate with technology, engineering, operations, compliance and business teams to translate risk into actionable steps, build trusted relationships and mentor the cybersecurity function. Duties include ensuring SLAs are met, designing enterprise security solutions, managing change impacts and auditing security metrics for leadership. Requirements: solid IT and OT/ICS security knowledge, familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST and SOC 2, fluent English with good German, and certifications such as CISSP or CISM are welcome. Tips: tailor your CV to show measurable risk reductions and cross-functional wins, and explain why Frankfurt onsite is the right fit.

Your role:

As Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) (f/m/d) at Digital Realty, you will strengthen our cybersecurity posture across EMEA – leading security planning, risk assessment, control assurance, and the integration of security into systems, projects, and operational processes.

Working closely with technology, engineering, operations, compliance, and business teams, you will translate risk into clear actions, build trusted relationships with stakeholders, and mentor others across the cybersecurity function.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure cybersecurity measures comply with contractual requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
  • Design and implement security solutions at the enterprise level, ensuring seamless integration with the existing IT environment.
  • Engage in the change management process by assessing the security impact of proposed changes and providing recommendations.
  • Monitor system recovery processes to ensure the proper restoration of security features and functions following any outages.
  • Oversee the integration of new security solutions within the production IT environment, working closely with engineering teams.
  • Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and verify compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, and report findings, incidents, and key security metrics to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Act as the central point of contact for cybersecurity topics across the organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed security considerations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to the cybersecurity team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

What you’ll need:

  • Solid understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, network operations, and data center operations.
  • Strong knowledge of network security and security architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of OT/ICS environments and the security challenges specific to them.
  • Working knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, SOC 2, FedRAMP, and SOX – and the ability to translate them into practical controls.
  • Ability to communicate security topics clearly to technical teams and senior management alike.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365.
  • Hands-on experience with GRC platforms – ServiceNow IRM/GRC is a plus.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management and incident response processes.
  • Curiosity and the drive to keep learning – whether you already hold a certification (CISSP, CISM, CISA, GICSP, IEC 62443) or are preparing for one; we actively support certification paths.
  • Fluent in English with good German language skills.
