Howmet Aerospace is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer, Local IT Support in Cleveland, on-site and full-time. This role sustains IT infrastructure, manages hardware and software configuration, patching and compliance, and provides architectural guidance for cloud services, domain administration and vendor management. You’ll support the Engineering team PCS ASAT on IT related topics, ensure HSS systems align with documented standards and security guidelines, and collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to advance Smart Manufacturing initiatives. Travel up to 20 percent may be required. Ideal candidates have a post-secondary degree, 3+ years in standard IT infrastructure (Windows, RedHat Linux, VMware, Veeam), plus familiarity with scripting or ServiceNow, strong communication, and a growth mindset. Responsibilities

  • Support the IT Infrastructure and their associated IT functionality tied to hardware/software configuration, administration, patching, and overall compliance.
  • Provide architectural guidance for infrastructure functionality including cloud support, domain administrative functions, and vendor management (internal and external providers).
  • Support the Engineering team PCS ASAT (PSAT) with respect to IT-related areas.
  • Ensure HSS systems are compliant with documented standards and corporate security guidelines. 
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Manufacturing leadership to support Smart Manufacturing projects.
  • Responsible for assigned business IT ASAT areas.
  • Participate on infrastructure projects to benefit the business unit’s technology posture.
  • Coordinate with corporate support teams to support HSS business users.
  • Maintain business client health (threat protection, software licenses and patch levels).
  • Respond to emerging security threats when required.
  • When required, travel to HSS locations to provide project support or any other site-related IT infrastructure support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have a post-high school degree in computer science, information management, or related subject, and some level of practical experience.
  • Three or more years of IT functional and technical experience specifically in standard IT infrastructure hardware (server/disk) technologies and software (VMsphere, MS Windows, RedHat LINUX, backup applications such as Veeam).
  • Technical knowledge with the ability to understand code, debugging, and query writing is a plus.
  • Understands IT best practices and industry proven practices and relates to Howmet specific business processes.
  • Enthusiastic interest in learning and effectively applying new technologies for problem solving.
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of traveling up to 20% both domestically and internationally.
  • Metals industry process and system knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of network topologies and security administration of infrastructure is a plus.
  • Knowledge of power shell scripting and ServiceNow is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of engineering applications, processes, and sensitive data is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of the programming of mobile devices and scanners is a plus.
