Job Description

We are looking for an Inspector / Verifier to join our friendly and supportive team.  This role will be based at our Mt Wellington office but will require travel across the Auckland region.

In this role you will assist with commercial inspections, verifying and surveying in the Auckland region, always ensuring that all tasks undertaken are performed in a truly professional manner so that the integrity of SGS is not compromised in any way.  Ideally you will have a background in agriculture or horticulture, however for the right candidate full training will be provided.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in agricultural inspections, or a qualification in horticulture (preferred).
  • The ability to follow established procedures and understand export regulations
  • Knowledge of the MPI Assurance System Framework is advantageous
  • A professional presentation with strong customer service skills
  • Proven ability to organise your own workload, work independently, and operate in remote locations
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when required
  • Strong report writing skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic database systems
  • A current, full New Zealand driver’s licence
  • A good level of physical fitness, including the ability to lift heavy boxes
