Alfred Health’s Central Sterilising Service is seeking permanent part‑time Instrument Technicians (0.9 EFT/72 hours), mainly at The Alfred Hospital, handling the full processing cycle from decontamination to issuing sterile instruments. Prior CSS experience helps but is not essential; on‑the‑job training is provided and you may enrol in a Certificate IV in Sterilisation if you hold Certificate III. To succeed, demonstrate strong communication, a quick learner, flexibility for a rotating 24/7 roster, and reliability. About us
The Central Sterilising Service (CSS) is an integral part of Alfred Health, providing a service to The Main Alfred Hospital Operating Suite and The Alfred Centre Operating Suite and also to the wards and other departments.
About the role
An exciting opportunity is available for permanent part‑time positions as Instrument Technicians, primarily based at The Alfred Hospital. Instrument Technicians work across a variety of shifts and are responsible for the full processing cycle of surgical instruments, from decontamination through to issuing sterile instruments and equipment used across all areas of the hospital.
