Integrated (Migration and Modernization) Architect
TrianzTrianz is hiring for an Integrated (Migration and Modernization) Architect to join its Transformation Solutions & Technology Office. The company has built a long track record of helping enterprises accelerate business transformations with AI-powered capabilities and a product-led, platform-driven approach under the Concierto brand. This role sits in the United Kingdom as a contract position listed with Remote - London as the location. It appeals to senior architects who enjoy shaping complex cloud journeys for large organizations and collaborating with client teams and partner ecosystems.
In this front-end role, you’ll own the assessment and roadmap narrative that underpins every winning proposal. You’ll translate sprawling, heterogeneous application estates into structured, executable cloud transformation plans, balancing technical depth with strategic advisory. You’ll work across the Solutions, Proposal, Sales and Platform Advisory teams, shaping the engagement from discovery through to the roadmap and commercial framing.
The ideal candidate is a senior architect who excels in multi-cloud settings and is comfortable engaging with C-suite stakeholders. You should bring a proven background in leading enterprise-scale portfolio assessments and modernization roadmaps for large technology landscapes, spanning hundreds to thousands of applications across diverse environments. If you enjoy steering complex conversations, defining strategic options, and delivering tangible modernization outcomes, this could be a great fit.
Charting the modernization map
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll steer large-scale application portfolio discovery and assessment across hundreds to thousands of applications, including Java, .NET, legacy frameworks, COTS packages, and custom systems. You’ll design and execute formal assessment frameworks that measure technical health, cloud readiness, containerization or serverless readiness, and possible modernization pathways. You’ll map dependencies and integration topologies, supplement automated discovery with workshops and interviews, and produce formal Assessment Reports that feature executive summaries, portfolio heat maps, and readiness scores per application to guide migration decisions.
In the migration and modernization architecture space, you’ll craft target-state cloud architectures that span web, middleware and database layers in multi‑tier setups across Java, .NET and polyglot environments. You’ll design DevSecOps transformation pipelines, including CI/CD, automated testing, security scanning, and GitOps adoption, to support modernized platforms. You’ll apply R-Treatment decision frameworks to determine where to modernize, rehost, replatform or rethink each application, and you’ll sequence migrations into waves while balancing business priority, technical dependencies, risk and delivery capacity. You’ll build modernization roadmaps that are milestone-driven and horizon-scoped, and you’ll develop business cases that quantify expected outcomes and align with client constraints. You’ll also own the solution narrative for proposals, defend technical approaches during client sessions with AWS alliance teams and partners, and work with the Solutions team to refine reusable assets and accelerate tooling, including GenAI-assisted assessment capabilities. When needed, you’ll contribute to POC development and platform demos to illustrate proposed approaches.
Across platforms and clouds, you’ll apply AWS strengths while also bringing Azure and GCP knowledge to extend coverage for multi-cloud or Azure-primary and GCP-primary client environments. You’ll outline Azure equivalents for application, database, and infrastructure domains and describe migration patterns that fit hybrid estates, Azure data patterns, and cross-cloud integration. You’ll keep an eye on data and AI platforms to support integrated roadmaps and agentic AI roadmap phases as part of modernization programs.
Must-have requirements
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise technology with hands-on development or solutioning background
- 8–12 years of experience in application architecture, with a clear focus on portfolio assessment, migration strategy, and modernization roadmaps at enterprise scale
- Multi-cloud exposure, with experience designing migration paths from on‑premises to AWS, Azure and/or GCP
- Proven track record leading application assessment engagements for large client portfolios, typically 50–1000+ applications
- Deep expertise with R-Treatment decision frameworks and the ability to independently classify and prescribe modernization approaches
- Strong understanding of where to place applications across containerization, serverless, re-platforming, and re-architecting, with the ability to explain trade-offs to both technical and business audiences
- Hands-on knowledge of discovery and assessment tooling such as MGN, CAST, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, SonarQube, Veracode and AWS X-Ray
- Solid grasp of cloud-native patterns (microservices, containers, serverless, event-driven design, API-first) and how to map them to each application's fit
- Experience with DevSecOps toolchains (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Terraform, CloudFormation) and the ability to define enablement for migration roadmaps
- Strong business-case development skills, including building TCO models and ROI analyses for modernization investments
- Exceptional written communication and presentation skills, with experience producing board-quality assessment reports, portfolio heat maps and roadmap decks
- Proven ability to operate in onsite-offshore engagement models with direct CxO and technical stakeholder engagement
- Prior consulting or pre-sales solutioning experience is strongly preferred
Nice-to-haves
- Experience developing GenAI-assisted assessment tooling, including automated code analysis, dependency extraction, and cloud readiness scoring acceleration
- Experience supporting POC development and platform demo execution
- Familiarity with Azure and GCP counterparts and patterns to extend solution coverage in Azure-first or multi-cloud environments
- Knowledge of migration tooling such as AWS MGN, AWS DMS, AWS SCT and AWS MAP as part of migration playbooks

Advice for applicants
Lead with the numbers. On your resume, put the 15+ years of enterprise technology experience and the 8–12 years in application architecture up front, then describe two or three large-scale portfolios you helped modernize and the outcomes you achieved.
Show how you applied R-Treatment thinking. Provide concrete examples of applications you assessed, how you classified them, and the modernization approach you recommended, including any waves or sequencing you designed and the business value you quantified.
Be ready to discuss your multi-cloud design chops. Prepare a story about a migration from on‑prem to cloud, how you chose between containerization, serverless or re-architecting, and the business trade-offs you explained to stakeholders from IT to the C-suite.
Have a plan for POC and tooling demos. If you’ve led GenAI-assisted assessments or platform demos, describe the scenario, the tooling you used, the data you collected, and the impact on the client’s decision to proceed with modernization.
