IATA, the global body representing more than 350 airlines, is looking for an eager intern to join its Geneva Training Center. The role sits within the Training Operations team and supports the delivery of training products to thousands of learners each year. The internship can be done remotely and is anchored in Geneva, Switzerland. The contract starts as a 6-month term and is extendable to 11 months, offering a solid platform to prove yourself. This spot suits someone aiming to build operations and customer-service experience in a worldwide industry that values teamwork across cultures.

As part of the Training Operations group, you’ll touch several parts of the training lifecycle, from the moment a learner signs up to the issuance of certificates, helping ensure courses run smoothly and safely for a broad audience. You’ll join a team that delivers 350+ courses to about 100,000 students every year, contributing to aviation's ongoing safety, efficiency and inclusivity goals.

Ideal candidates are close to completing a University Degree in Business Administration or a related field, with graduation within the next year. You should be comfortable juggling multiple projects, keeping a sharp eye on detail, and communicating clearly with people from diverse backgrounds. English fluency is required, and any additional languages are a plus. A solid command of Word, Excel and PowerPoint is expected, while knowledge of Salesforce and Power BI would be welcome assets. The internship may extend beyond six months, up to five additional months, based on business needs and performance.

The day-to-day at the Training Operations hub

You’ll handle internal and external support requests for the systems and platforms used in training delivery, such as LMS, SAP, Moodle, Zoom, Salesforce, SharePoint, and Power BI, helping keep operations running smoothly.

Logistics will be part of your daily routine, coordinating instructors’ travel and accommodations, arranging visa invitation letters, distributing course materials, and issuing certificates so each class proceeds on schedule.

Financial tasks will come your way as you collaborate with the Finance Department to create quotations, issue invoices and process refunds, while monitoring outstanding payments and updating the Credit Manager on aging items.

There will also be times you provide backup support to teammates and take on special projects, contributing to ongoing improvements in how training operations are run.

Advice for applicants

Lead with your near-term graduation and your Business Administration focus on your resume, so a reviewer sees you fit the 6-month internship and the role’s operational angle.

Show concrete examples that prove your must-haves, such as a track record of organizing multiple projects at once, collaborating across cultures, and performing well under pressure. If you’ve collaborated with international teams or managed complex logistics, highlight those stories prominently.

Prepare for interviews by detailing any hands-on experience with the platforms listed in the role, LMS, SAP, Moodle, Zoom, Salesforce, SharePoint, and Power BI, and by describing how you’ve handled customer-facing situations or supported financial processes like invoicing or refunds.

When you’re thinking of questions to ask, target the role’s impact and roadmap: ask how the internship supports the delivery of 350+ courses to 100,000 students each year, or how success is measured when handling learner logistics and financial transactions. A smart starter could be: what would be the first project I’d contribute to, and how will my performance be evaluated for an extension?
