Merck Group invites chemistry or analytical sciences students to an onsite 9–12 month internship in impurity profiling and physical characterization of display materials in Darmstadt, within the Central Analytical Services Department. You will join a lab using analytical techniques such as HPLC, DSC, and TGA to characterize OLED materials and liquid crystals, contribute to evaluating new analytical procedures, and support quality control and method development. The ideal candidate is collaborative, innovative, and results driven, with broad instrumental knowledge and solid computer skills, fluent in German and/or English, a fast learner with strong organizational talent and good communication, and a true team player. Your role:
You will be part of a lab team with different analytical techniques (e.g. HPLC, DSC, TGA). These methods are used to analyze the whole variety of modern display materials such as organic light emitting diode (OLED) materials or liquid crystals. You will take part in evaluation and test of new analytical procedures and methods. The internship takes place in the Central Analytical Services Department.
Our department offers analytical services to internal customers, in particular for R&D. Different methods are used to characterize high-tech materials and impurities. Our services include the full spectrum from quality control analytics to method development.
Who you are:
• Student (m/f/d) of Chemistry or Analytical Sciences • Collaborative; Innovative; Results-driven
• Broad knowledge of instrumental analytical methods and computer skills
• German and/or English (excellent knowledge spoken and written)
• Fast learner with organizational talent, strong team player with good communication skills
Duration: 9-12 months fulltime
