Your Tasks

  • You work on simulation projects related to the press nip of a paper machine and model materials and structures under realistic load conditions.
  • This includes the development and implementation of models for polymers and fiber structures.
  • You build a stable, automated and modular simulation workflow.
  • The models are validated using test data and supported by plausibility and sensitivity analyses.
  • You develop evaluation methods for the simulations together with material development and product management.
  • Close collaboration with different departments is part of Your work.

 

Your Profile

  • You study a STEM subject such as mechanical engineering, materials science, physics or process engineering or a comparable field. A specialization in materials science or simulation is a plus but not required.
  • You have an interest in material behavior, structural mechanics and or thermomechanics as well as ideally initial experience with polymers or other complex materials such as biological tissues.
  • Ideally, You have already worked with FEM software such as Ansys Mechanical, especially in the field of nonlinear simulations such as contact, material behavior or multiphysics, or You are motivated to learn.
  • You optionally have programming skills, for example in Python.
  • We require very good German or English skills, both written and spoken.
  • You work independently, in a structured way and are eager to learn.
