New World Gardens in Dunedin is seeking part-time Inwards Goods/Grocery Assistants to join the Inwards Goods Team, with the potential to pick up extra shifts in the Grocery Department. The role covers goods receipting and scanning, safe forklift operation, unloading trucks, moving stock to cages, managing records and safety compliance, liaising with managers and suppliers about discrepancies, preventing wastage through stock rotation, and keeping the storeroom tidy while ensuring a safe work environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, loves a busy team setting or can work independently, available to start at 5.00am and on weekends, physically fit, organized, with a can-do attitude; forklift license preferred but training provided. Inwards Goods/Grocery - New World Gardens

We are looking for part-time Inwards Goods/Grocery Assistants to join our Inwards Goods Team at New World Gardens with the potential to pick up additional shifts within our Grocery Department.

Are you reliable, enjoy being busy, enjoy working within a team environment but equally can work on your own, and enjoy early starts, this could be the job for you.

Key tasks:

• Goods receipting and scanning orders
• Operating a forklift in a safe and responsible manner
• Unloading trucks, transferring stock to cages & working through picklists
• Maintaining records and following Health & Safety guidelines
• Liaise with Managers and external suppliers regarding stock discrepancies
• Prevent wastage through storeroom stock rotation & checking dates
• Help with maintaining a tidy and well-organised storeroom and inward goods area
• Ensure a safe environment for staff and delivery personnel at all times

Our ideal person would be able to:

• Provide a high standard of customer service
• Ideally hold a current Forklift License but will provide training to the right candidate
• Inward goods and/or storeroom experience
• Physically fit and heavy lifting experience
• Reliable, organized and have a can-do attitude
• Must be available to start at 5.00am and available to work weekend shifts
