We are seeking an experienced SAP Application Development Manager to for leading the design, development, enhancement, and support of SAP solutions across both SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA landscapes. This role manages onshore and offshore development teams, ensures alignment with business objectives, and lead S/4 Hana transformation initiatives while maintaining stable operations for existing ECC environments.
The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Fiori application development, backend ABAP development, and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including Cloud Application Programming (CAP) and RESTful Application Programming (RAP). This role requires deep knowledge of DevOps security best practices, code quality frameworks (ATC, SQL Planviz, etc.), and cross-functional impact analysis to ensure high-quality, scalable, and performance-optimized solutions.
This role will play a critical role in driving standardization, extensibility, and integration frameworks, leveraging SAP’s Key User Extensibility tools, decoupled development, and the AIF framework for seamless integration.
• Lead and manage SAP development teams supporting ECC and S/4HANA systems (ABAP, Fiori, integrations, enhancements).
• Provide technical and people leadership, including performance management, coaching, and career development.
• Coordinate internal resources and external system integrators/consulting partners.
• Drive ABAP backend development, ensure custom code remediation, simplification item alignment, and clean-core principles.
• Ensure fault-tolerant, enterprise-grade applications leveraging HANA database capabilities.
• Lead the implementation of SAP Screen Personas to enhance user experience and UI customization across SAP applications.
• Develop and optimize RF development frameworks to support efficient warehouse and logistics operations within EWM.
• Integrate security best practices into DevOps processes, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
• Promote Key User Extensibility Tools and decoupled development to minimize unsupported customizations.
• Develop and optimize OData-based RESTful APIs for seamless system communication.
• Design and implement AIF-based integration solutions for effective data exchange between SAP modules.
• Leverage SAP BTP, including CAP & RAP, to build scalable, cloud-native applications.
• Collaborate with functional teams and business stakeholders to assess development needs and ensure cross-functional alignment. Act as a trusted advisor on SAP technical capabilities, risks, and trade-offs.
• Support global business initiatives, rollouts, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Lead parallel deployments, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
• Provide technical mentorship to developers and project teams, fostering skill development and innovation.
Required Skills
• Education required - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in SAP application development, with a strong background in S/4HANA, GTS, EWM, and MDG.
• 3+ years in a leadership or manager role overseeing SAP technical teams.
• Experience supporting or leading S/4HANA implementations or migrations.
• Solid understanding of SAP modules and end-to-end business processes.
• Experience working in global, multi-system SAP landscapes.
• Expertise in Fiori/UI5 development, OData/RESTful API communication, and ABAP development.
• Strong hands-on experience with HANA database development, including CDS views, AMDP, and code pushdown techniques.
• Deep knowledge of SAP BTP, including CAP & RAP for cloud-based application development.
• Proven ability to implement DevOps security best practices and enhance code quality using ATC, SQL Planviz, and similar tools.
• Experience with SAP Screen Personas to enhance user experience across SAP applications.
• Experience in SAP RF development framework to support logistics and warehouse operations in EWM.
• Experience in designing SAP Application Interface Framework (AIF)-based integration solutions.
• Strong leadership skills, with experience managing parallel deployments and understanding cross-functional impacts.
• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• SAP certifications in relevant areas (e.g., SAP Fiori, SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite) are a plus.

Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $160,000-$170,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
