ENGIE is hiring a contract IT Systems Advisor for a six-month engagement in Houston with hybrid work options (Houston/Remote US). What You Can Expect

​​Maintain the SCADA/GMS environment as well as compliance with NERC/CIP program and architecture of the Generation Control Center (GCC) in Houston as a Medium or High impact facility and maintain compliance with the latest NERC CIP requirements. Provide support for Virtual environments supporting IT and OT systems.

  • ​Performs advanced focused architecting, optimizing, implementing, configuring, managing, administering, troubleshooting, maintaining and monitoring one or more of the following: infrastructure software, hardware, systems/applications, middleware, servers/storage, and IP-based telecommunications

 

  • ​Follow implemented IT policies, governance, standards, and security
  • ​Installs new specific software releases and/or upgrades including researching, testing and implementing new technology
  • ​Participates in disaster recovery planning and testing, including fault tolerance and detailed disaster recovery plan maintenance.
  • ​Communicates and interfaces with members of the IT, vendor and user communities. Outage or an emergency.
  • ​Perform capacity planning for IT Infrastructure including Nutanix platform and communications, ensuring robust redundancy.
  • ​Experience with Hyperconverged Technologies, private and public cloud.​

 

What You’ll Bring

  • ​​Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Information Technology or Technical degree.
  • ​Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT/OT application support and development with some IT experience.
  • ​General understanding of the NERC CIP requirements and prior program implementation experience.
  • ​Commonly used programming technologies such as C, C#, Java, Visual Basic, .Net and SQL. Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • ​Knowledge of infrastructure technologies; application and/or operating systems, documenting and maintaining complex application and process or configuration information
  • ​Providing day-to-day system/application administration and/or system/application administration in support in a variety of work environments; installing and maintaining applications, operating systems, or equipment
  • ​Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and to implement solutions
  • ​Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new concepts.
  • ​Knowledge of Patch Management, Security Monitoring tools, Anti-Virus, Incident Response, Backup and Recovery Operations; e and familiarity with networking and SIEM tools; VMWARE/NUTANIX technologies and Hyperconverged networks; NERC/CIP Standards and requirements and how to ensure compliance.​
