Mō tēnei tūranga mahi / The Opportunity:

We are looking for a motivated IT Tutor to teach our Certificate in Internet Technology (Level 4) programme from August to December 2026. This is a fixed term full- time position based at our Manukau campus.

This is a classroom-based role requiring on-site delivery throughout the week at our Manukau Campus. The successful candidate will engage and support domestic students – specifically our rangatahi that are moving from the Level 3 to the Level 4 NZ Certificate in IT.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, creating and delivering engaging lessons aligned with programme learning outcomes using Canvas
  • Supporting students to develop practical internet technology and digital literacy skills
  • Creating an inclusive and learner-centred classroom environment
  • Assessing student work and providing timely feedback
  • Maintaining accurate academic records and learner progress reports
  • Participating in moderation and quality assurance activities
  • Embedding culturally responsive teaching practices, including Te Ao Māori principles into the programme delivery

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum Level 4 qualification in Information Technology or a related field
  • Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring or supporting domestic learners in an education, training or community setting
  • A passion for working with youth and supporting learner success
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Experience creating and/or developing assessments online
  • Strong understanding of Te Ao Māori, kaupapa Māori values and culturally responsive teaching practices
  • Previous experience working with youth and adults in a tertiary setting
