Isar Aerospace is recruiting a (Junior) Ground Fluid Systems Engineer (m/f/d) for full time, onsite in Ottobrunn, Bavaria. In this role you work closely with Propulsion and Launch Vehicle teams to design fluid systems for test and launch facilities, including rocket engine test rigs, cryogenic storage and distribution, and high pressure gas systems, while translating requirements into functional designs and operation concepts. You will perform sizing calculations or simulations, select hardware, prepare PFDs and P&IDs, lead design reviews and risk assessments, and potentially lead factory and site acceptance tests or commissioning. Requirements include a BSc or MSc in aerospace, mechanical or related engineering, 0 to 5 years of experience, strong fluid mechanics and thermodynamics knowledge, basic high‑pressure/cryogenic system know‑how, fluent English, and willingness to travel. Bonus skills include EcosimPro, Python/Matlab, CFD, and hands-on piping or commissioning experience. Mission Brief
We deliver the half of the rocket that stays on the ground. As a Ground Fluid Systems Engineer at Isar Aerospace, you deliver the ground fluid infrastructure required for safe, reliable, and rapid test and launch of the Spectrum rocket. This includes test-rigs for development, qualification, and acceptance of launch vehicle and propulsion systems as well as entire launch bases. You work hand-in-hand with Propulsion and Launch Vehicle development teams to translate their requirements into functional designs and concepts of operations. You tackle complex engineering challenges across multiple projects and phases – from concept to detail design, execution, commissioning, and handover to site owner and operator.
