Job Purpose:
The Junior Instrumentation Engineer will support instrumentation and control engineering activities for Oil & Gas projects covering design, engineering, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases. The role will assist senior engineers in the development and review of instrumentation systems while ensuring compliance with project specifications, HSE requirements, applicable standards, and ADNOC/client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support preparation and review of instrument datasheets, instrument index, I/O lists, alarm and trip schedules, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, and instrument layouts.
• Assist in the selection and specification of field instruments including pressure, temperature, flow, level, control valves, analyzers, and associated instrumentation.
• Support engineering activities related to DCS, ESD, PLC, F&G, SCADA, and other control and safety systems.
• Assist in reviewing P&IDs, control philosophies, cause & effect diagrams, logic diagrams, and functional design specifications.
• Support preparation of material requisitions, technical specifications, instrument calculations, and engineering deliverables.
• Assist senior engineers in reviewing vendor drawings, technical documents, and contractor submissions.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Telecom, HSE, Construction, and other engineering disciplines.
• Participate in HAZOP, SIL, design reviews, 3D model reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings as required.
• Support resolution of instrumentation-related technical queries during engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Participate in site inspections, instrument installation checks, loop checking, calibration, functional testing, and system walkdowns.
• Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and performance testing activities for instrumentation and control systems.
• Assist in maintaining engineering documents, technical records, deliverable registers, and action trackers.
• Ensure instrumentation activities comply with applicable IEC/ISA standards, ADNOC/client specifications, project procedures, QA/QC, and HSE requirements.
• Participate in technical training, mentoring, and competency-development programs as part of the UAE National development program.

Qualification & Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or equivalent from an accredited university
• Minimum of three (3+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including minimum two (2) years in GCC region.
