Job Description

We have an exciting Key Account Manager opportunity available for a person to step into a 8 month fixed term contract at AsureQuality. The purpose of this contract role is to cover for parental leave from July/August 2026 until February/March 2027. This will involve working with customers across New Zealand’s dairy and food sectors.

Step into an established portfolio, this is a strategic, relationship-focused role where you’ll drive growth through solution selling, build trusted partnerships, and identify new opportunities to deliver value through AsureQuality’s services and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow strategic customer relationships across the dairy and food sectors
  • Drive revenue growth and achieve sales and profitability targets
  • Lead customer planning, contract negotiations, renewals, and tender processes
  • Identify and develop new customer partnerships and emerging opportunities
  • Collaborate across teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes
  • Maintain strong market awareness across industry trends and regulatory developments

This is a 7 month position to cover for parental leave based in either Auckland (Mt Wellington) or Christchurch, with regular domestic travel required.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a commercially savvy relationship builder with a hunter mindset who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in account management, technical sales, or customer relationship management within a B2B environment
  • Strong industry knowledge within the dairy, food, ingredients, agribusiness, testing, or certification sectors
  • A technical or science-based qualification
  • Proven success building, growing, and managing customer portfolios
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, resilient, and solutions-focused approach
