This is a casual role, meaning shifts are as required by the care home. 

 

As part of our Housekeeping team, you will help create a homely and healthy place for our residents by providing an exceptional cleaning service to the Care Home. As a Kitchen Assistant, your role will be to support the Chefs with providing deliciously nutritious meals for the residents to enjoy.

 

Where You Will Make an Impact – Cleaner 

  • Maintain a high standard of cleaning as set out on the cleaning schedule.
  • Managing cleaning supplies.
  • Meeting of daily schedule to ensure that residents’ rooms and public areas are in perfect order, reporting any faults or issues to the Household supervisor. 
  • Adhere to Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe chemical use and storage.
  • Treat residents with respect and dignity.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities – Kitchen Assistant

  • General kitchen duties (dishwashing and cleaning).
  • Assist with food preparation.
  • Adhere to Hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality. 
  • Follow Health and Safety procedures. 

 

What About You

  • Previous Cleaning and Kitchen Assistant experience in a similar environment is preferable.
  • Be prepared to roll up your sleeve and get stuck into whatever needs to get done.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, care, and passion for making a difference in our residents’ lives.
  • Must have flexible availability for a variety of shifts throughout the week, including weekends and evenings. 
  • Reliable transport or travel arrangements.
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
