This full-time Kitchen and Laundry Technician role at Sofitel Dubai The Palm focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance of kitchen and laundry equipment such as dishwashers, ovens, steamers, grills, fryers, washers, dryers, ironers and presses, and quick breakdown response. You will conduct safety inspections, maintain logs, coordinate with kitchen and laundry teams, ensure health and safety standards, monitor spare parts, assist with installation of equipment, and uphold tool safety. Ideal candidates hold a technical diploma or certificate in mechanical or electrical engineering, 2-3 years in a hotel or resort, and familiarity with preventive maintenance; brand experience preferred. Job Description

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of all kitchen and laundry equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment such as dishwashers, ovens, steamers, grills, fryers, washers, dryers, flatwork ironers, and presses
• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize operational downtime
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service reports
• Coordinate with kitchen and laundry teams to plan maintenance activities
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
• Monitor spare parts usage and report requirements to the Engineering team
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
• Ensure proper use of tools and adherence to safety procedures

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a hotel, resort, or similar environment
• Knowledge of hotel safety standards and preventive maintenance systems
• Experience with multinational brand standards is an advantage
