Job Description

  • Perform all tasks according to GLP compliant SOP’s in an accurate, precise, autonomous, and timely manner based on the overall project- and subsequent Laboratory Planning of the Ecotox Biology Department
  • Set-up, maintain and perform static, semi-static and especially flow-through based tests with different fish species across various OECD’s
  • Set-up and perform biochemical tests (mainly EIA) across fish species and OECD’s
  • Perform general tasks including but not limited to drafting/revision of SOP’s, equipment calibration, lab maintenance, etc.
  • Mounting, setting, controlling, and maintaining, of (automated) static, semi-static but mainly flow-through systems
  • Working with a variety of fish species across all life stages incl. eggs: selecting, observing, registration of biometrical data and sampling (i.e. blood, organs)
  • Working with and maintenance of various sized aquaria allowing a high-through put of tests across OECD’s
  • Preparing and applying a range of chemical solutions
  • Analytical quantification of biological, physical-chemical, biochemical, and physiological parameters across OECD’s
  • Entering and processing data hereby working with different types of software
  • Timely, concisely and clearly reporting the biological and analytical progress across test systems and projects

Qualifications

  • Preferably bachelor’s in biology (or related scientific domain)
  • A valid certification/license to work with animals LTK1 (or even better LTK 2) is mandatory
  • Preferably 2 years of experience in a GLP regulated environment
  • Preferably 2 years of experience with fish keeping, handling, testing, and sampling
  • Preferably 2 years of experience with maintenance of aquaria and flow-through test systems
  • Preferably 2 years of experience in performing OECD tests with fish in a GLP regulated CRO environment
  • Preferably 2 years of experience of performing biochemical assays in particular EIA
  • English (fluent) is mandatory, German (preferably fluent), French (would be an asset)
  • You like working accurately and timely in a strictly regulated environment according to detailed SOP’s
  • You like working strictly according to the planning provided and delivering results prior to the respective deadline
  • You like working and handling highly technical static, semi-static and especially flow-through systems and hereby performing the test accurately and timely including performing the required manipulation of equipment, aquaria, etc.
  • You have an eye for detail hereby directly reporting failures or deviations
  • You like working in a highly motivated and dynamic team
  • You like working in a fast-paced environment within a global CRO framework
