Citycare Property is hiring a Labourer/Trainee (Gardening) for full-time onsite work at Burnham Military Camp in Canterbury. The role offers gardening and grounds maintenance with training. You’ll plant, weed, prune, mulch, support landscape tasks, and learn to use tools safely while working with experienced team members and upholding health and safety standards. You’ll engage with NZDF staff and contractors. What matters most: genuine interest in gardening, a positive trainable attitude, and a strong safety focus. Class 1 licence is preferred; you must meet NZDF security, right to work, medical, drug and alcohol screening, two references, and consent to a criminal-record check. We're looking for a Labourer/Trainee (Gardening) to join our team at Burnham Military Camp. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience while helping maintain the gardens, green spaces, and outdoor environments that support New Zealand Defence Force personnel.

What You’ll Be Doing | Ngā Kawenga Takohanga

• Planting, weeding, pruning, mulching, and garden maintenance
• Supporting grounds and landscape maintenance activities
• Learning to safely use horticultural tools and equipment
• Working alongside experienced team members
• Following health, safety, and environmental standards
• Interacting professionally with NZDF personnel, contractors, and site users

• Interest in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Enjoy physical outdoor work
• Commitment to health and safety
• Full Class 1 licence preferred
• Able to meet NZDF security requirements
• Right to work in New Zealand
