WM New Zealand seeks a Landfill Operator for Green Island, Dunedin. This role will excavate, load and transport soil, gravel and materials to the landfill to ensure safe waste placement and compaction, ensure accurate material spreading, deliver customer service, perform daily maintenance and safety checks on vehicles and equipment, and complete all required paperwork. The successful candidate will have experience operating equipment in a similar industry, hold Wheels, Tracks and Rollers endorsement, friendly cooperative attitude, strong safety focus, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Job Description

• Excavate, load, and transport soil, gravel and other materials to landfill in order to compact and/or cover waste in a way that is safe and follows company requirements and regulations.
• Accurate placement to ensure most effective spreading or compacting of waste or other materials.
• Deliver high quality customer service at all times.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on vehicles and/or equipment as and when required.
• Complete all paperwork and records accurately, as directed and required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating large commercial equipment in a similar industry.  
• Wheels, Tracks and Rollers endorsement.
• Friendly and cooperative attitude
• Understands and contributes to a safe working environment. 
• Class 4 (NZ) Licence (desirable)
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
