The Role XPENG is looking for a highly motivated contract lawyer to join our EU legal team based in Amsterdam. In this full-time role, you will support marketing, sales and other business units in EMEA on a variety of commercial transactions. The ideal candidate shall have extensive experience in commercial contract law, as well as interest in competition law and consumer laws. As the first point of contact from the legal team you will be responsible for all contract related issues. In this role, you will get yourself familiar with the business model adopted by XPENG in EMEA. You will communicate on a daily basis with people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. You will be working in a fast-paced working environment where changes are the norm. A background that incorporates a mixture of law firm and in-house experience is ideal. Prior experience in the automotive industry is preferred. This position will require some travel. Responsibilities: · Acting as the first point of contact from the EU legal team, advise XPENG business units on all contract related issues (B2B or B2C agreements), e.g. distribution agreement, B2B national sales agreements, procurement agreement, XPENG purchase terms and conditions, warranty agreement, and etc. · Communicate with internal legal specialists or external counsels on IP, GDPR and other specific legal issues that are related contract drafting and review. · Provide regulatory and compliance advice on issues that have a strong tie with contracts, such as on issues related to competition laws or consumer protection laws. · Continually create, improve contract review process as well provide periodic legal trainings to business teams. · Manage legal disputes (if applicable). · Provide administrative support on managing external counsels. Requirements: · Qualified lawyer with excellent academic credentials · 3 - 5 years’ experience in drafting, negotiating and reviewing complex commercial contracts, prior contract law working experience in automobile industry is preferred · Basic to good understanding of EU competition laws and EU consumer protection laws · Confident self-starter with excellent communication skills (oral and written) · Demonstrated ability to be a team player and complete assignments in a timely manner. · Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently, prioritizing workflow, meeting demanding deadlines, and managing multi-faceted legal projects. · Hands-on, problem-solving mentality with the ability to feel comfortable advising in legal matters beyond your core legal expertise. · Proven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, working proactively, being resourceful and an eye for process improvement. · Respect different culture and willingness to work in a fasted paced, international environment. · Fluency in English, Chinese (Mandarin) or another major European language is preferred. · Knowledge to use Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
